Its main ingredient comes from the bark of the Pau d'arco tree in South America. Coconut oil is a known fungus killer, the active ingredients being lauric and caprylic acid. It also is a great source of essential fats for good health. Studies have shown that organic coconut oil explodes the nucleus of the yeast cell effectively killing it.

Cinnamon bark  or cinnamon oil has been found to be deadly to drug resistant candida yeast and other fungal infections. The active ingredients are cinnamaldehyde, cinnamon oil vapors and eugenol. Preliminary human evidence confirms this effect in a clinical trial with AIDS patients suffering from oral candida (thrush) infections that improved with topical application of cinnamon oil. Antibacterial actions have also been demonstrated for cinnamon oil concentrates. The diterpenes in the volatile oil have shown anti-allergic activity as well. In addition, water extracts may help reduce ulcers. Test tube studies also show that cinnamon oil can augment the action of insulin and in Indian studies it was found to help control blood sugar levels. The oil is much stronger than the bark.

All these Oregano Oil products below have a minimum of 70% carvacrol, which is the active ingredient in oregano oil. I would avoid anything less.

Tea Tree Oil can be used on the skin also but the area must not be open because tea tree oil is poisonous. Dilute 50/50 with water before using.

Oregon Grape Root (Berberis aquefolium). Berberis exhibits broad-spectrum anti-microbial activity inhibiting fungal, yeast, and bacterial proliferation. It is a good candida remedy and is also very helpful in the treatment of many fungal and bacterial infections. Do not use long-term, since prolonged administration can undermine the healthy intestinal flora as well as possibly weakening stomach function in some individuals. I recommend never using it for more than ten to fourteen days without interruption.

Malic acid, which is derived from apple cider vinegar, has strong anti-fungal abilities. You can simply add a teaspoon of Bragg’s apple cider vinegar with the mother to your carrot juice twice daily if it is more convenient for you.

Undeceylenate acid is a good candida remedy and anti-fungal agent that is stronger than caprylic acid. It is very gentle and completely non-toxic.

Xylitol is a monosaccharride sugar substitute that inhibits and kills candida while preventing tooth decay in children and adults. It is heat stable and makes a great baking and cooking sugar since it tastes just like sugar. Now you can have some sweets while killing candida at the same time.

Caprylic acid is a fatty acid derived from coconut oil & has been found to kill on contact yeast and other fungi. It specifically is effective for gastrointestinal candida overgrowth. Once absorbed, caprylic acid is no longer an anti-fungal but is then metabolized to produce energy. It is very popular but there are other supplements that work better than caprylic acid such as those found in CandidaClear below.

Garlinase is one of the most well published anti-fungal herbal candida remedies in the world. Allicin, which is a phyto-enzyme in garlic, has the most well documented anti-microbial properties that are not just limited to the eradication of fungi. Viruses and bacteria are also neutralized by garlic.

A 1998 study published in The Journal of Microbiology, implicated raw carrots as a good fungus fighter because it seems to inhibit fungus proliferation. The absolute best way to use carrots for candida is to juice them. Juicing provides your body with instant nutrition to the blood stream as well as giving your body a break from the strain of digesting whole foods.

Lactoferrin is the active protein in colostrum and is extremely potent as a candida yeast killer and immune system booster. It kills all fungi on contact and boosts immune function so much that if you are pregnant you should not take this. It could cause your immune system to reactivate and attack your fetus. For us non pregnant people 1 or 2 capsules a day should be plenty to kill candida.

Gentian Violet works ok and is so safe nursing mothers use it on their nipples with no toxic effects to the baby. It has a habit of turning your clothes purple but Zoot stain remover can take it out.

Candex is an enzyme formula that eats the cell wall of the candida making it very effective for candida treatment. It produces no die-off reaction and works in as little as three days to a month. What's most important about Candex is the fact that it eats thru the outside cell wall of the candida. This allows the herbs to kill the nucleus so it cannot reproduce and spread. It is extremely effective when take with the top four remedies above, especially the Candidate.

Candida Yeast Management is almost the same exact formula, a little stronger, as candex for $15 less a bottle. You also get double the amount of capsules. Early reports are it works just as well too.

Warning: I would start taking TIB at 1 capsule a day for 5 days before going to 2 caps or more a day. You may have stomach pain from the war being waged in your intestines if you don't. I'm serious, it happened to me, but I also had a severe case of candida. I would ease into it and see how it goes before going to higher doses. I do recommend you eventually get to 6 capsules a day to restore good bacterial levels and completely kill all the candida.

CP-1 is the strongest comercially available probiotic in the world, 62 billion per capsule with a guaranteed 50 billion at expiration, which is 1 year.

Lactobasillis GG is a bacterial species that is already found in the human intestine. It was discovered in 1985 and has been the most widely researched probiotic ever discovered. It has been proven to grow and attach to the wall of the intestine and it can survive antibiotic attack. It does not have to be refrigerated so it won't spoil and does not promote mold growth in the body. It is quite possibly the best probiotic on the planet!

Thrush caused by candida albicans can be treated using CP-1, Lactobasillis GG, or Total Immune Booster dissolved in water. Fifteen minutes before breakfast, dissolve 1 dose of any of the bacterias in 4 ounces of water, rinse thoroughly in mouth and then swallow. This may also be used by children with thrush. Swab mouth two times daily with above mixture. You can also use them for yeast diaper rash. Rub mixture on affected parts and allow to dry. Use after every diaper change. Improvement should be seen within a few days, continue program until all evidence of the coating is gone.

CP-1 and Lactobasillis GG can be taken as a douche for vaginal yeast infections, used as a colonic implant, for soaking athlete's foot, fungus nails, or sprayed on certain skin rashes like diaper rash. Total Immune Booster is not recommended for douching since it contains the other immune enhancing herbs that do more good in the intestine.

Almost all other probiotic products will not establish new bacterial colonies either due to the way they are manufactured. If you find one that does other than Total Immune Booster, please let me know about it so I can share the information on this website.

CandidaClear is a very good product and puts all others to shame. The main ingredient is undecylenic acid that works just like coconut oil and explodes the nucleus of the yeast cell. NSI has taken this a step farther and added caprylic acid, grapefruit seed extract, barberry root, garlic extract and acidophilus. They've also added Biotin, which has been said to stop the yeast cell from become multi-cellular and invasive candida. It is an outstanding candida remedy as evidenced by the studies farther up this page.

Although these herbal candida remedies will work very effectively. For your long-term health and as prevention from reoccurrence, you will need to still restore your stomach bacteria to a healthy level and rebuild your immune system.

Many many times, the person that suffers chronic yeast infections or from candida has high mercury, iron, or other metal levels. If you fall into this category and do not treat yourself for this issue, your chances of getting rid of this are very slim. The only way to know where you stand is to get tested. If you test high you must then treat yourself for mercury, iron, or metal poisoning. Even if you don't test yourself then I would just assume you have high mercury levels because 90% of the people with candida yeast overgrowth do. The best product I know of for removing metals from the body without the nasty side affects is Cellular Zeolite found on the Mercury page.

As you can see there are lot of herbal candida remedies to choose from. Mycologists have found that the candida fungus will mutate and build resistance like any common bacteria if you take only one or two of these candida remedies. The treatment requires that you rotate a few of these products in a treatment system so the fungus does not have time to adapt and build a resistance to the candida remedy. It is very effective and the whole treatment lasts 12 to 24 weeks depending on the severity of the infection.

Always remember to buy and use high quality candida remedies that are proven to have the herb listed in sufficient quantities. This is one time in your life when this difference can truly make the difference, between getting well and not getting well.
