Medically Proven Candida Remedies

Natural anti-fungal candida remedies are very useful in the treatment of candida infection because they can enter the blood stream where probiotics cannot. This helps with chronic, systemic, and reocurring candida treatment immensely if the fungus is present in two or more places. Probiotics can only force out the yeast infection in the intestines, mouth, and vagina, but they do balance ph levels in the body providing support to the immune system, while they help restore natural bacterial levels for your future health.

Most chronic and systemic candida infections are associated with parasites also. I recommend a parasitic cleanse be done before you start the candida remedies and probiotics. Even if you do not have parasites this cleanse allows the candida remedies below to work much more effectively because it helps remove the biofilm candida builds around itself as a means of protection.

For parasites and to initially cleanse the colon, the Ultimate Colon Cleanse is the best I've found. The Ultimate Colon Cleanse is a proprietary blend of organically certified natural herbs for cleansing of the intestines; it kills, supports, and stimulates the body’s natural defenses in the removal of parasites. It contains 44 different herbs that are combined with other clinically proven natural ingredients, including natural herbs that are known to kill candida yeast. It helps with the healing of leaky gut syndrome and strengthens the intestinal walls reducing allergic reactions.

It relieves constipation without you having to worry about running to the bathroom without any notice. Many people have reported skin conditions completely clearing up in weeks. Acid reflux, bloating, gas and other digestive problems can virtually disappear in short order as it restores your digestive system to normal.

The Ultimate Colon Cleanse also comes with an 8 strain probiotic that helps displace more candida and balance ph in the intestine, further killing harmful bacteria and dangerous pathogens. These bacteria stimulate the intestinal immune system and that also helps you get back to normal.

Many times people have combined this cleanse with Biofase, followed the diet while they did this, and have completely cured their candida. I, my wife and oldest daughter do this cleanse once a year as a preventative measure and it works fantastic for all of us.

The Top Six Medically Proven Candida Remedies

Candidate is a natural candida remedy with the active ingredients Lapachol and Beta-lapachone, which are also known as naphthaquinones, are proven fungi killers. Laboratory tests have demonstrated that both Lapachol and Beta-lapachone have anti-fungal properties as potent as the prescription anti-fungal Ketaconazole.

Lemon grass or Cymbopogon Citratusis are also added and have been found to inhibit Acinetobacter baumanii, Aeromonas veronii, Candida albicans, Enterococcus faecalis, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica, Serratia marcescens, Staphlycoccus aureus, and Proteus mirabilis.

Calendula Officinalis also known as pot marigold has also been added and has been found to help detoxify the body and promote tissue repair, which minimizes die-off symptoms.

Hi Dan,

Just wanted to let you know that I finally got the Candidate (took 2 weeks to get to Canada) and I have been taking it for 5 days and it is really working! Tons of yeast is coming out of me, Finally! The die off is intense, fluid is coming out of my ears every night and is insanely itchy, and I feel like a truck ran over me and today my bowel movement was completely covered in white yeast.

Thanks Dan, your site is the best one on the internet for valuable information.

Regards,
Daniel

Candidate is an excellent product and I highly recommend it. If you experience die-off reactions when taking it just drop the dose some so you can stand it.

Coconut oil is a natural candida remedy whether in whole form or capsules is a medically proven candida yeast killer. This was proven in a landmark study done in 2001 by Gudmundur Bergsson, et. al. at the Institute of Biology, University of Iceland,1 Department of Anatomy, University of Iceland Medical School, and Department of Microbiology, National University Hospital, Reykjavik, Iceland. titled, "In Vitro Killing of Candida albicans by Fatty Acids and Monoglycerides". and published in Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy Volume 45: 3209-3212, No. 11.

They found that the capric acid found in cold pressed coconut oil caused the quickest killing of three strains of candida. Lauric acid was found to work on a slower time period but was the most effective killing agent. The oils exploded the plasma membranes and nucleus of the candida yeast cell.

This link takes you to a picture of the candida cell and coconut oils effects. Side A is a normal candida yeast cell, in side B you can see that the inside of the cell has been literally scattered by coconut oil and I guarantee you is quite dead

In another study published in June 2007 at the Department of Medical Microbiology & Parasitology, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria by Ogbolu DO, et. al.

Found that "Candida albicans was the most common isolate from clinical specimens (17); others were Candida glabrata (nine), Candida tropicalis (seven), Candida parapsilosis (seven), Candida stellatoidea (six), and Candida krusei (six). C. albicans had the highest susceptibility to coconut oil (100%), with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 25% (1:4 dilution), while fluconazole had 100% susceptibility at an MIC of 64 microg/mL (1:2 dilution). C. krusei showed the highest resistance to coconut oil with an MIC of 100% (undiluted), while fluconazole had an MIC of > 128 microg/mL. It is noteworthy that coconut oil was active against all species of Candida at 100% concentration compared to fluconazole. Coconut oil should be used in the treatment of fungal infections in view of emerging drug-resistant Candida species.

In "The Yeast Connection Handbook", coconut oil is recommended by the author, William Crook M.D.

This reference is an excellent but very long read.

Many natural health practitioners will prescribe caprylic acid for natural candida cleansing but as the studies indicate, your much better of with all the active ingredients rather than just the one. So always take the whole form of coconut oil and not the extracts and make sure it is a virgin cold pressed natural organic oil.

SF722 is another medically proven candida remedy that is aproximatley six times more effective than caprylic acid, the active ingredient is Undecylenic acid from castor beans. It has been proven to be effective in maintaining a healthy balance of intestinal and vaginal flora.

It inhibits yeast from converting to the mycelial form we know as candida.

Undecylenic acid has been shown to be effective in preventing fungal overgrowth associated with vaginal and gastrointestinal candidiasis via its fungicidal activity.

Oral administration can inhibit or even prevent oral candidiasis, or thrush.

During lactation, oral administration of undecylenic acid to nursing mothers can prevent thrush in babies and is useful for the treatment of breast yeast infections.

It has been found to be effective against such organisms as Candida albicans, Trichophyton species, Epidermophyton inguinale, and Microsporum audouini.

It was found to be effective when applied topically against the herpes simplex virus in both animals and humans.

It has been found to completely inhibit the growth of denture stomatitis.

Sf722 has been shown to be completely safe, even while nursing.

Cinnamon oil is a candida remedy that has been found to be deadly to drug resistant candida yeast and other fungal infections. The active ingredients are cinnamaldehyde, cinnamon oil vapors and eugenol. Preliminary human evidence confirms this effect in a clinical trial with AIDS patients suffering from oral candida (thrush) infections that improved with topical application of cinnamon oil. Antibacterial actions have also been demonstrated for cinnamon oil concentrates. The diterpenes in the volatile oil have shown anti-allergic activity as well. In addition, water extracts may help reduce ulcers. Test tube studies also show that cinnamon can augment the action of insulin and in Indian studies it was found to help control blood sugar levels.

Cinnamon oil is not recommended to be taken internally unless its in capsule form. The oil does work very well on the skin and can be applied directly to thrush spots in the mouth.

Oregano Oil is a superb candida remedy and has been tested extensively against molds, yeast, fungi, and candida in the scientific field. It is a proven candida yeast killer and the best results are achieved when the oregano oil contains 68.1% or more of carvacrol, which is the active ingredient in the oil. All the studies below can be verified by going to PubMed.

In a study done on 6 mice injected with candida albicans and published in the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry. All six of the mice fed oregano oil survived more than 30 days with no sign of Candida infection, while all six mice that were fed just olive oil died within seven days.

A soon-to-be published study by Dr. Preuss and colleagues looked at the potential of oregano oil in Candida albicans, and found that oregano demonstrated antifungal powers in test-tube and experimental studies, against both systemic and skin infections.

In a study done in 2007 of fungal skin infections, oregano oil was added to a foot bath where the water was 107.6 degrees, 99.7% of the mycelial fungi were killed. Another test was run at 81 degrees with the oil added and considerable damaged was done to the fungi.

Inouye S, Uchida K, Nishiyama Y, Hasumi Y, Yamaguchi H, Abe S. Teikyo University Institute of Medical Mycology, Tokyo, Japan; 2007

In another test done in 2003 at the Universidade de Coimbra in Portugal, oregano oil at a strength of 68.1% was used against 7 different clinical isolates of candida and 3 ATCC type strains of candida. A fungicidal effect was observed to the membranes of the candida strains.

Salgueiro LR, et al., at the Laboratório de Farmacognosia, Faculdade de Farmácia/CEF, Universidade de Coimbra, 3000 Coimbra, Portugal. 2003

In a study done in 2002 at the Institute for Biological Research, Belgrade, Yugoslavia, five different essential oils were tested for antifungal activity against 13 fungal species. Among the fungi tested were food poisoning, plant, animals and human pathogenic species. The oils presented various degrees of inhibition against all the fungi investigated. The highest and broadest activity was shown by the carvacrol content oils, while the oil of sage was the least effective. Carvacrol from oregano oil exhibited the highest and 1,8-cineole the lowest level of antifungal activity among the components tested.

Sokovic M, et al. at the Department of Plant Physiology, Institute for Biological Research, Belgrade, Yugoslavia. 2002

In another study done in South Africa in 2002, the effect of nine different oils was evaluated on the growth of Aspergillus parasiticus and Fusarium moniliforme.

The experimental design to examine the inhibition of mycotoxins involved the incorporation of each of seven oils into broth and patty cultures. The fungal mycotoxin was identified by high-pressure liquid chromatography. Clove oil was the most inhibitory to the growth of A. parasiticus and F. moniliforme, followed by cinnamon oil, oregano and mace oils. Neem and eucalyptus oil did not affect fungal growth.

Seven essential oils from seven air-dried plant species were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry against the fungi Penicillium digitatum in Athens Greece in 2000. The radial growth, conidial germination, and production of Penicillium digitatum were inhibited completely by oregano, thyme, dictamus, and marjoram essential oils at relatively low concentrations (250-400 microg/mL). Lavender, rosemary, and sage essential oils presented less inhibitory effect on the radial growth and conidial germination of P. digitatum.

The inhibitory effects of 10 selected Turkish spices, oregano essential oil, thymol and carvacrol towards growth of 9 foodborne fungi were investigated in culture media with pH 3.5 and 5.5 in 1988 in Turkey. The anti-fungal effects of sodium chloride, sorbic acid and sodium benzoate and the combined use of oregano with sodium chloride were also tested under the same conditions for comparison. Of the spices tested, only sodium chloride was also tested under the same conditions for comparison. Of the spices tested, only oregano showed effect on all fungi.

Grapefruit Seed Extract is another proven candida killer.

In 2005 a couple of college students at California Polytechnic State University did a study on grapefruit seed extract and its effect on candida albicans. They found that it inhibited candida as well as Miconazole with one dose typically having an inhibitory effect that lasts 16 hours.

They also found that tea tree oil had no effect and neither did low dose probiotics. Amazingly, the old standby garlic that some people swear by didn't do a thing either. I suspect that people using garlic and tea tree oil actually have bacterial problems and not candida.

Biological Sciences Department, College of Science and Mathematics, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo; 2005

It comes in a liquid form and a capsule form for ease of use. The liquid forms can be diluted with coconut oil and used for skin yeast

Other Candida Remedies

MPS Gold is a formulation of glyconutrients found to be effective for natural candida treatment and cleansing. In 1998 an invitro study by D.L. Lefkowitz and S.S. Lefkowitz Ph.D's. from Texas Tech University, Dept. of Microbiology; found that a complete glyconutrient formula verses aloe polymannose, a single glyconutrient, killed 95% of the candida test specimen by increasing phagyocyte and macrophage activity. Aloe polymannose did increase the killing function above controls but not nearly to the extent of the complete glyconutrient formulation. The powder is the best way to go instead of capsules.

Xylitol is a monosaccharride sugar substitute that inhibits the growth of candida while preventing tooth decay in children and adults. It is heat stable and makes a great baking and cooking sugar since it tastes like sugar. Now you can have some sweets while killing candida at the same time.

Caprylic acid is a fatty acid derived from coconut oil & has been found to kill on contact yeast and other fungi. It specifically is effective for gastrointestinal candida overgrowth. Once absorbed, caprylic acid is no longer an anti-fungal but is then metabolized to produce energy. Doses need to be 4000mgs per day for it to be truly effective and sustained release formulas work best.

Colostrum is a known yeast killer and is very beneficial for immune system support. It contains all the immunoglobulin antibodies that a person needs for support. Especially IgA, which protects the mucous linings of the body, the place yeast and candida like to attach.

A 1998 study published in The Journal of Microbiology, implicated raw carrots as a good fungus fighter because it seems to inhibit fungus proliferation. The absolute best way to use carrots for candida is to juice them. Juicing provides your body with instant nutrition to the blood stream as well as giving your body a break from the strain of digesting whole foods. Carrot juice is also very good for the liver.

Lactoferrin is the active protein in colostrum and is extremely potent as a candida yeast killer and immune system booster. It kills all fungi on contact and boosts immune function so much that if you are pregnant you should not take this. It could cause your immune system to reactivate and attack your fetus. For us non pregnant people 1 or 2 capsules a day should be plenty to kill candida.

Best Skin Treatment for Candida

Coconut oil works well on infected skin and any of the oils can be mixed with it for better effects.

Gentian Violet works ok and is so safe nursing mothers use it on their nipples with no toxic effects to the baby. It has a habit of turning your clothes purple but Zout stain remover can take it out.

Lufenuron has been medically proven to kill dermatophyte type of fungi(tinea) that commonly infect the skin. These infections include ringworm, jock itch, athletes foot, nail fungus, dandruff, etc. It has been used for years for dogs and cats with this type of skin yeast and fleas with very good success. I have not been able to find a study for Lufenuron and candida yet so I have no idea if it works for those species? I do know that it does not work for aspergillus. Be forewarned, Lufenuron has demonstrated the ability to damage epithilial intestinal cell junctions and animal ovary cell junctions which causes leaky gut syndrome.

Best Enzyme Formulas

A clinical study of yeast eating enxymes for natural candida treatment was performed in 2002 on 52 patients for approximately three months.

They were also given a probiotic supplement (to boost the population of friendly bacteria) and were placed on a low-carbohydrate diet. All patients experienced a marked improvement in both upper and lower gastro-intestinal symptoms, like abdominal pain and bloating, as well as noticing improvements in other symptoms such as skin rashes and allergies.

Dr. Craig Butler of the Progressive Medical Group, in Atlanta, Georgia, who monitored the study, says that many more patients have now benefited from this new supplement. He said; "We have placed numerous patients on Candex with the same results" It was concluded that Candex is an effective natural alternative for anti-fungal therapy, which is well tolerated and does not cause any adverse side effects.

Results were also verified by giving each patient a before and after Comprehensive Diagnostic Stool Analysis (CDSA) for pH abnormalities, positive candida culture and significant microscopic visualization of yeast mycelium in the stool.

They were also given a before and after Bioterrain Analysis (BTA) test, which revealed fungi and increased physiologic stress on the adrenals, kidneys and the gastrointestinal tract.

All 52 patients showed improvement with both tests proving these enzymes do indeed work.

Study Results from Candex. Progressive Medical Group, 4646 North Shallowford Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30338. August 8, 2002

However, although this study paved the way for candida enzyme therapy back in 2002, Biofase is a much better candida remedy than any of the other candida yeast enzyme products on the market. Biofase contains all the enzymes needed to effectively digest the biofilm and all the components of the candida cell. It eats all componants of the biofilm where these other yeast eating enzymes don't. It also eats bacterial and viral biofilms. There is no way I would bother with any of the other candida eating enzyme products but that's your choice. People have compared Candex to using a rifle, and Biofase to using a bazooka.

Best Probiotic Formulas for Yeast & Candida

Profase is the best candida killing proboitic on the market that I am aware. The bacteria in it have been medically proven to cobat candida and bacterial infections while also stimulating the immune system.

CP-1 is one of the strongest commercially available probiotics in the world, 98 billion per capsule with a guaranteed 60 billion at expiration, which is 1 year.

The 11-Strain Formula is undoubtedly a premeire probiotic for candida. With 11 beneficial strains of good bacteria at 200 billion per dose, not much else can compare. It's good for adults and because it comes in a powder form, it is very easy to give to kids.

The Mercury and Metal Connection

Many many times, the person that suffers chronic yeast infections or from candida has high mercury, iron, or other heavy metal levels. If you fall into this category and do not treat yourself for this issue, your chances of getting rid of this are very slim. The only way to know where you stand is to get tested. If you test high you must then treat yourself for mercury, iron, or metal poisoning. Even if you don't test yourself then I would just assume you have high mercury levels because 90% of the people with candida yeast overgrowth do. Please follow the directions on the Heavy Metal Cleanse page if this is a problem for you.

As you can see there are lot of herbal candida remedies to choose from. Mycologists have found that the candida fungus will mutate and build resistance like any common bacteria if you take only one or two of these candida remedies. The treatment requires that you rotate a few of these products in a treatment system so the fungus does not have time to adapt and build a resistance to the candida remedies. It is very effective and the whole treatment lasts 12 to 24 weeks depending on the severity of the infection.

Always remember to buy and use high quality candida remedies that are proven to have the herb listed in sufficient quantities. This is one time in your life when this difference can truly make the difference, between getting well and not getting well. This does make a difference with all herbs for any illness or health challenge, always place quality before quantity.
